A strategic coordination meeting between UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and Global Katalyst e.V. (Germany) emphasized the implementation of SN GEF to advance campus internationalization

Cirebon, May 23, 2025 -- UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its position as a global campus by holding a Coordination Meeting with international partners, Global Katalyst e.V., a social and cultural foundation based in Stuttgart, Germany. The event, which was held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the International Office on the 5th floor of the Siber Building, was an important step in the implementation of the Syekh Nurjati Global Employability Framework (SN GEF), as well as opening up broad opportunities for accelerating campus internationalization.

As part of the vision of making UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon a global campus, two main pillars have always been the main focus: research active and employability. This meeting is a real manifestation of the university's efforts to realize these two pillars in an integrated manner. In addition, this meeting is also a momentum to align academic policies with the demands of the international labor market, especially in Germany, which is one of the strategic career destinations for UINSSC graduates.

The collaboration with Global Katalyst e.V., which was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2023, not only focuses on developing the capacity of students and alumni, but also has a significant multiplier effect on the campus' internationalization process. Through SN GEF, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati integrates aspects of global competitiveness into the curriculum, career development, and cultural exchange programs, thereby enhancing the institution's reputation on the international stage internasional.

In addition to collaborating with Global Katalyst e.V., UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati has also established a partnership with Regionale Wirtschaftsförderung Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg (WIFOG), a regional economic promotion institution based in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. This collaboration provides direct access for UINSSC students and alumni to intern and work at leading companies in the region, while also paving the way for research collaboration between higher education institutions and industry in Europe.

The coordination meeting was attended by a number of university leaders and heads of strategic units, namely Doddy Kadarisman (Founder & Director of Global Katalyst International Cooperation), Dr. Ayus Ahmad Yusuf (Vice Rector for Academic Affairs), Prof. Dr. Hajam (Vice Rector for Student Affairs & Cooperation), Prof. Dr. Ria Gloria (Head of the Quality Assurance Institute), Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. (Head of International Office), Ivo Dinasta Yanuar, M.AppLing (Secretary of International Office), Wahyono, M.Pd.I (Head of Career Development Center), Darrotul Jannah, M.Ag (Head of Language Development Center), and Dr. Maulidya Ulfah (Head of Publication and University Ranking Center), and students who are interning at the International Office. The participation of these stakeholders shows that SN GEF is not just a career project, but a strong foundation for the transformation of institutions into global campuses.

The discussion in the meeting covered various strategic aspects, including the preparation of the program participant selection mechanism, soft skills and leadership training, German language skills preparation, and facilitation of internship and work placement in Germany. In addition, it was also agreed that there was a need for cross-work unit integration such as the Career Center, Language Development Center, and International Office to ensure alignment in supporting the implementation of SN GEF holistically.

Through the SN GEF initiative, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon not only expands international career access for students and alumni, but also creates a multiplier effect that supports the big agenda of campus internationalization. This program also contributes to increasing international publications, the quality of university rankings, and increasing the number of strategic partners in various countries. Thus, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon is increasingly confident in stepping forward as a center for superior, inclusive, and relevant Islamic education in the global era.
