Coordination Meeting: UINSSC International Office Strengthens Implementation of Double Track Program with Global Catalyst

Cirebon, July 4, 2025  The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UINSSC) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with Global Catalyst to discuss the implementation of the Double Track Program and the development of international language training at UINSSC. The meeting took place on the 5th floor of the Cyber Building and was led by Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Head of the International Office. It was attended by ten participants from relevant departments. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. opened the discussion by sharing updates on recent progress, including the completion of technical guidelines and the registration of the first batch of 20 participants from five different faculties. The official launch of the program is scheduled for August 1, 2025.

During the session, Ms. Nurul Aini presented the structure and funding model of the program, highlighting that German language training will begin soon. While the exact contribution fee is still being calculated, it is expected that participants will be required to make some financial contribution. The program targets students in their final semester or those who have recently graduated, offering them the opportunity to join an internship or switch to the Ausbildung track in Germany. Although participants come from various study programs, they will all be placed in the same language class to streamline the learning process.

To support a clear understanding of the Double Track scheme, the International Office is forming a special training team of 3–4 members to conduct Q&A sessions and provide overall program orientation. “We want to ensure that every participant fully understands the academic path, internship opportunities, and long-term benefits of the program,” said Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. The program is supported by a Rector’s Decree, officially designating UINSSC as the center for language learning under the Double Track scheme. The university will also collaborate with Pesantren Gedongan and other partners to ensure adequate facilities are available for teaching and learning.

The German language course is set to begin in mid-August 2025, following a team training session on July 10. The International Office is preparing classroom space for at least 20 participants, along with a dedicated tutor’s office as requested by Ms. Wanti. A detailed schedule and tutor assignments will also be arranged. Partners such as PLC have committed to providing qualified tutors and necessary textbooks. These preparations reflect the university's commitment to delivering a structured and supportive learning environment.

In terms of funding, two financial schemes will be offered: IP and SP. The IP scheme requires a bridging fund of approximately IDR 9,700.000 and €4,300, which will be reimbursed once participants begin working in Germany. The SP scheme requires an upfront payment of around IDR 13,700,000 and €4,075. The International Office plans to explain both schemes to future participants, promoting broader access through the more inclusive IP model. This flexible approach is intended to accommodate students from various financial backgrounds.

Promotional materials for the program will remain dynamic due to evolving content. Therefore, booklet production for the Ausbildung track will be handled by WIFOG, while Global Catalyst will focus on general outreach and collaboration. A key component of the program is encouraging participants to re-register with Anabin as bachelor’s graduates, enabling them to pursue a master’s degree in Germany if desired.

To ensure full readiness, the International Office is coordinating the issuance of three key Rector’s Decrees: one for the official program, one for participants, and one for the PIC (Person-in-Charge). The PIC team will include internal university representatives: Wahyono, M.Pd.I (Head of Career Development Center), Ivo Dinasta Yanuar, S.S., M.Appling (Secretary of International Office), Dr. Nana Priajana, M.Pd (English Coordinator at Language Development Center), Ghina Amaliyah Sholihah, S.Sos. (Staff of International Office). The team will undergo training on July 10 to prepare for the program launch. With this initiative, UINSSC strengthens its international academic ecosystem and reaffirms the International Office’s role as a driver of global innovation and opportunity within the university.
