Diversity on Screen: International Students from Philippines, Thailand, and Sudan Join the Cast of International Office UINSSC’s Tamyiz Series
Cirebon, March 01, 2025 — In an inspiring demonstration of cultural collaboration and global engagement, international students from the Philippines, Thailand, and Sudan have joined the cast of Tamyiz, a widely acclaimed Islamic-themed series produced by Muhammad Azkiya Bahtsulkhoir, an undergraduate student and a member of Global Engagement Team of International Office UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. This initiative highlights the university’s commitment to creating an inclusive and dynamic environment where diverse voices come together to enrich storytelling and campus life.
The project has received strong support from Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph. D., Director of the International Office of UINSSC, who champions internationalization and cultural exchange as core university values. The series is led by Muhammad Azkiya Bahtsulkhoir, serving as producer and director of Tamyiz. Alongside them, key contributors such as Bryan Setiaji and Lukman Anwar Ismail have played important roles in bringing the project to life, helping to integrate global perspectives and expand its reach.
Among the international student participants are Baby Farhana Lumaguinding Tunggay, Raquema B. Moten, and Tony Samula Guiaman from the Philippines; Balkis Song and Asia Samang from Thailand; and Khaleed Eltayeb Abdalla Fagdalla from Sudan. Their involvement brings authentic narratives and cultural diversity to the 41-episode series, enriching the storytelling with fresh and vibrant perspectives.
Lala Bumela, Ph.D., Director of the International Office, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Integrating international students into Tamyiz brings fresh insights and a broader cultural dimension that resonates deeply with our audience. Their participation enriches the storytelling experience and truly reflects the multicultural spirit and vision of UIN SSC as a global university.
By featuring international students as key cast members, Tamyiz not only tells compelling stories rooted in Islamic values but also supports UINSSC’s vision of internationalization and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 10 on Reduced Inequalities. The presence of these students as cultural ambassadors promotes cross-cultural dialogue and inclusion within academic and creative spaces. As Tamyiz continues to gain attention, the presence of international voices on screen highlights UINSSC’s dedication to celebrating diversity, fostering mutual respect, and building a global community united by shared values and artistic collaboration.
This collaboration also inspires other academic and creative projects at UINSSC to embrace international participation, paving the way for more inclusive and innovative initiatives.
