Empowered to Serve, Trusted to Lead: How Four Global Engagement Team Interns at International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Earned KKN Rekognisi Through Real Impact and Institutional Stewardship
Cirebon, October 2, 2025 — Four members of the Global Engagement Team (GET) — Farah Syifa Mutiara Riyadi, Cyrila Zahra Tsania, Indah Fitri Nurhidayah, and Resa Diah Gayatri — presented their internship achievements to LP2M (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat) as part of their KKN Rekognisi validation. What made their case exceptional is that they are still actively serving as student interns at the International Office yet have already reached a level of contribution and maturity worthy of formal recognition. Farah Syifa opened the session by expressing deep appreciation for the IO’s unique approach to intern development. She explained that the office goes beyond task delegation by intentionally nurturing soft skills, leadership capacity, and research awareness, experiences rarely accessible in regular classroom settings. This holistic mentorship, she said, has transformed their internship into a journey of personal and professional growth. All four emphasized that their time at the IO has equipped them with confidence, global perspective, and a sense of institutional ownership.
Farah jointly detailed her responsibilities within the Administration Team, which include managing internal correspondence, preparing RKKAL documentation, supporting major institutional milestones such as the International Focus Group Discussion, the signing of international Memorandum of Understanding, and many others. She also played direct roles in handling documentation and welfare for international students awarded the Syekh Nurjati Global Excellence Scholarship for 2024 and 2025. Farah has handled time sensitive tasks with precision and professionalism. She emphasized that the IO’s focus on soft skills, leadership, and real-world research exposure has transformed her internship into a journey of growth.
Cyrila Zahra Tsania followed with her own detailed account of administrative work, highlighting her role in managing RKKAL documentation, internal correspondence, and protocol compliance during institutional collaborations. She supported the same major events as Farah, including IFGD and MoU signings, and contributed to the welfare coordination of SN-GES scholars. A significant part of her responsibility involves handling immigration-related documentation for international students, including visa applications, E-Kitas processing, SINDI registration, and other legal requirements mandated by Indonesian immigration authorities. Her coordination ensures that SN-GES scholars maintain valid legal status throughout their stay in Indonesia, reflecting the IO’s commitment to both compliance and student welfare. Cyrila’s strength lies in meticulous record keeping, proactive follow up with government systems, and clear communication with students navigating complex bureaucratic processes.
Their work has consistently supported Director Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., in maintaining the IO’s reputation for precision and reliability. The trust placed in them reflects their responsiveness, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex workflows under tight deadlines. Farah and Cyrila added that their responsibilities will soon expand further as they prepare for the upcoming AsiaCALL International Conference 2025, UINSSC’s largest global event of the year.
Resa Diah Gayatri then shared her experience as Web Administrator, highlighting how her role has deepened her understanding of professional writing and editorial standards. She manages the IO’s official news platform, where she not only publishes articles but also reviews and refines content from fellow team members to ensure clarity and institutional tone. Beyond digital content, she has taken on diverse roles such as Liaison Officer, Master of Ceremony, event documenter, and also mentoring the other website team members. These opportunities, she noted, have sharpened her adaptability and communication skills in real world settings. Like her peers, she credited the IO for creating an environment where students are encouraged to lead, reflect, and grow. Her journey illustrates how technical tasks can become pathways to broader competence when supported by intentional mentorship.
Indah Fitri Nurhidayah concluded the team’s presentation by showcasing the impact of the Digital Team’s creative work, which has significantly increased engagement across the IO’s social media channels. She designs visual campaigns that translate UINSSC’s global vision into compelling digital narratives, aligning every post with the “Unggul Mendunia” spirit through International Office. In addition to content creation, she mentors new GET members, ensuring knowledge transfer and consistent quality. She reaffirmed that the IO’s greatest strength lies in its commitment to student development beyond operational needs. All four presenters confirmed they remain fully engaged in preparations for the AsiaCALL Conference 2025, scheduled for November 14 to 16, 2025, where they will support logistics, digital coverage, and even join as presenters on this proceeding conference.
Dr. Budi Manfaat, Head of the Community Service Center, responded with immediate and enthusiastic approval. After listening to their detailed accounts, he declared their KKN Rekognisi validated and commended the depth of their reflection and institutional awareness. He noted that their ability to articulate both technical contributions and personal transformation sets a strong example for future students. His validation was not just procedural but deeply affirming, recognizing their work as a model of meaningful community engagement.
The presentation underscored a powerful truth about the International Office: it functions not only as a hub for global collaboration but also as a laboratory for student leadership. From the 5th floor of the new Cyber Building, these four interns have helped advance UINSSC’s international mission while discovering their own potential. Under the guidance of Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., the GET has demonstrated that when students are trusted with real responsibility, they rise to the occasion with excellence and heart. As they return to their desks to continue preparing for AsiaCALL 2025, they carry forward a legacy built on service, growth, and global vision.
