Expanding Financial Literacy and Future Security: AIA Financial’s DPLK Presentation Inspires Strategic Thinking on Pension Planning within UIN SSC’s International Academic Environment

Cirebon, April 23, 2026—Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Director of the International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, continued an online meeting with PT AIA Financial through a session that shifted the focus toward long-term financial planning. Following an initial discussion on healthcare services for international students, the meeting transitioned into a presentation on pension fund programs. The session was attended by representatives from AIA Financial, including Nuh Prabawa Laurens, Adrianto, and Dini Kurniasari. This second agenda introduced participants to a broader dimension of financial protection beyond immediate healthcare needs. The atmosphere evolved from evaluative reflection into forward-looking learning. Participants were invited to consider how financial preparedness plays a role in institutional and individual sustainability. This session marked an important step in expanding awareness of future-oriented financial systems.

The presentation was delivered by Dini Kurniasari, who introduced the concept of DPLK (Dana Pensiun Lembaga Keuangan) as part of AIA Financial’s comprehensive services. She explained that DPLK AIA Financial was established on March 15, 2000, as a dedicated pension fund institution under PT AIA Financial. The program operates as a separate legal entity, officially approved by the Ministry of Finance and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). This structure ensures that the management of pension funds is conducted professionally and transparently. She also highlighted AIA’s commitment to service quality through the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 standards. These elements positioned DPLK not only as a financial product, but as a structured system built on accountability and trust. The explanation provided a strong foundation for understanding the institutional credibility of the program.

As the session developed, Dini Kurniasari elaborated on the two main programs offered under DPLK AIA Financial: the Defined Contribution Pension Program (PPIP) and the Post-Employment Compensation Pension Benefit (MPDKP). She described how each program is designed to accommodate different institutional and employee needs. The PPIP scheme allows flexibility in contributions, which can come from the company, the employee, or a combination of both. It also enables participants to manage individual accounts and determine investment directions across money market funds, fixed income, or equities. As Dini Kurniasari explained, “The flexibility within the DPLK system allows both institutions and individuals to actively participate in shaping their financial future.” This approach highlighted the importance of shared responsibility in financial planning. It also encouraged participants to view pension funds as an active and strategic process rather than a passive obligation.

Further explanation was given on the MPDKP scheme, which differs in its structure and management. In this program, contributions are fully provided by the company and managed collectively as a pooled fund. Investment decisions are determined by the company, while the benefits are distributed directly to employees under specific conditions such as retirement, early retirement, disability, or death. This model emphasizes institutional responsibility in ensuring employee welfare after their working period ends. Dini also outlined the administrative and service features supporting the program, including customer service access, digital platforms such as e-access portals, and claim submission systems. These services were designed to simplify processes and enhance user experience. The explanation reinforced the idea that effective financial systems require both structure and accessibility.

The presentation also highlighted the strength and scale of DPLK AIA Financial at the national level. As of 2025, the program has been trusted by 716 corporate clients with a total of 347,813 participants across Indonesia. This data reflected not only the growth of the program, but also the confidence placed in AIA’s financial management capabilities. Participants were able to see how pension programs are widely implemented across various sectors, including corporations, hospitals, and educational institutions. This broader perspective encouraged a deeper understanding of pension systems as part of long-term organizational strategy. It also demonstrated how financial planning can contribute to institutional resilience. In this context, the presentation served as both an informative and reflective experience.

In response to the presentation, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. expressed appreciation for the insights shared by Dini Kurniasari. He noted that the session had provided valuable knowledge that could benefit not only institutional planning, but also individual awareness. He also requested access to the presentation materials for further study and potential dissemination among colleagues and students. This request reflected an intention to extend the impact of the session beyond the meeting itself. In response, Dini confirmed that AIA has a dedicated team ready to support ongoing communication with UIN SSC. This exchange highlighted a shared commitment to continuous learning and collaboration. Ultimately, the session concluded as a meaningful step toward integrating financial literacy into a broader educational context.
