Forging Global Readiness Through Strategic Coordination: The International Office’s Comprehensive Preparatory Meeting for AsiaCALL International Conference 2025

Cirebon, October 15, 2025 – In a defining moment for global academic engagement, the International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UINSSC) has launched full-scale preparations for the landmark AsiaCALL International Conference 2025, scheduled to take place from November 14–16, 2025. This prestigious event, hosted on the university’s digital-native campus, marks a pivotal stride in transforming the institution’s vision of “Unggul Mendunia” (Excelling Globally) from aspiration into tangible reality. With meticulous planning already underway, the International Office convened an intensive internal meeting on October 15, 2025, to align strategies, delegate responsibilities, and ensure every logistical and programmatic detail meets international standards. The conference will blend offline and online participation, creating a truly hybrid academic forum that bridges continents. As the university’s flagship international event, AsiaCALL 2025 is not merely a gathering, it is a declaration of UINSSC’s arrival on the global stage of applied linguistics and digital education.

The conference will feature an extraordinary roster of globally recognized scholars, underscoring the event’s academic gravitas and international appeal. Confirmed keynote speakers include Professor Dr. Andrew Lian of Suranaree University of Technology (Thailand, Professor Dr. Jeremy White from Ritsumeikan University (Japan), Dr. Ania Lian of Charles Darwin University (Australia), and Associate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho from the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). Further enriching the discourse are Professor Emeritus from the University of Canberra (Australia), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hassan Khosravi of The University of Queensland (Australia), Professor Shameem Rafik-Galea of SEGi University (Malaysia), and distinguished Indonesian academics such as Made Hery Santosa, Ph.D. (Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha), Luqman Baehaqi, Ph.D. (UIN Palangka Raya), and Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. himself. Their collective expertise promises to ignite transformative conversations on language, technology, and pedagogy in the digital era. The choice of Cirebon as the host city adds cultural depth to the scholarly exchange, offering participants a unique blend of tradition and innovation.

Reflecting on the magnitude of this undertaking, Director of the International Office Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., emphasized the event’s symbolic and strategic importance: “AsiaCALL 2025 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Cirebon and for our university. This is the moment we prove that ‘Unggul Mendunia’ is not mere rhetoric, but a lived commitment. Every detail must reflect our professionalism, hospitality, and global mindset.” His words set the tone for a culture of excellence that permeates every task, from coordinating hotel accommodations for international speakers to finalizing the conference dress code and branded notebooks. The team is also preparing dedicated offline venues on the fourth floor of Gedung Cyber, while online participants will be organized into eight to nine breakout rooms, each guided by trained moderators.

Operational readiness extends beyond logistics into institutional quality assurance. Notably, UINSSC’s Internal Quality Audit (Audit Mutu Internal/AMI) has recently achieved the highest rating “Sangat Tinggi” a significant leap from previous years. This achievement, according to the International Office, must be mirrored in the conference’s content and execution, with a clear focus on internationalization as a core institutional value. To that end, all team members are expected to internalize the university’s qualification framework and embody soft skills such as hospitality, clarity in presentation, and intercultural sensitivity. Even the smallest elements like bumper videos, social media content, and ceremonial staging are being crafted with precision to project a cohesive, world-class identity.

The ceremonial and cultural dimensions of the conference are equally vital. A traditional dance performance will grace the opening at Gedung Cyber, followed by a gala dinner designed to foster informal networking among global scholars. Master of Ceremonies candidates are being carefully vetted not only for eloquence but for their deep familiarity with the International Office’s mission, past events, and digital presence. “An MC for an international event must understand context, not just script,” Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. noted, underscoring the need for presenters who actively follow the office’s social media and grasp the nuances of cross-cultural communication. Technical preparations are equally rigorous, with dedicated setups for hybrid delivery, including high-fidelity Zoom configurations, simultaneous interpretation capabilities, and seamless transitions between physical and virtual spaces.

As November approaches, the International Office operates with heightened intensity, driven by a shared belief that AsiaCALL 2025 will redefine what a digital-native Islamic university can achieve on the world stage. From securing flight tickets and hotel partnerships to finalizing moderator assignments and volunteer briefings, every task is infused with purpose. The conference stands as both a celebration of academic collaboration and a strategic milestone in UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon’s journey toward global recognition. In the words of its leadership and the dedication of its team, this is more than an event, it is a legacy in the making, rooted in Cirebon yet resonating across continents.
