International Office Holds Preparation Meeting for Digital Literacy Workshop for Global Engagement Team Interns

Cirebon, July 23, 2025 – On a productive Wednesday morning, the International Office (IO) of UIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon held a preparation meeting for an upcoming Digital Literacy Workshop intended for its intern students. This workshop aims to enhance the digital competencies of interns from the Global Engagement Team, who play active roles in supporting the office's daily operations. The meeting took place offline at the 5th floor of Gedung Siber and was led directly by the Director of International Office, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. As part of IO's internal capacity-building strategy, this event is considered crucial for strengthening the digital skills of team members. The collaborative atmosphere during the meeting demonstrated the team's commitment to both learning and professional development.

The meeting commenced with opening remarks from Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., who emphasized that digital literacy is not merely a technical requirement but a fundamental skill in today's global engagement landscape. He highlighted the importance of staying ahead in technological advancements and encouraged interns to embrace this opportunity for personal growth. All participants were intern students from the Global Engagement Team, each contributing to various aspects of IO's international programs. Their active participation in the planning process reflects the office's approach to experiential learning and hands-on development. The session was designed to be both informative and engaging, ensuring that interns would gain practical insights while preparing for the main workshop.

The initial discussion focused on logistical and technical preparations for the upcoming workshop. The team reviewed the availability of the venue, necessary equipment, and seating arrangements to ensure a comfortable learning environment. Special attention was given to internet connectivity, audio systems, and presentation tools that would be used during the sessions. The team also discussed backup plans in case of technical issues, ensuring the event would run smoothly regardless of unexpected challenges. These preparations reflect IO's commitment to professionalism and attention to detail in all its activities.

Following the logistical review, the team discussed the workshop's content structure and session flow. Each intern was assigned specific roles, including facilitation, documentation, timekeeping, and technical support during the event. The team leader emphasized the importance of clear coordination and effective communication among team members to ensure seamless execution. A detailed timeline was created, outlining key activities from the start to the conclusion of the workshop. This structured approach not only helps in organizing the event but also provides interns with valuable project management experience.

The team also explored interactive methods to enhance participant engagement during the workshop. Ideas such as live Q&A sessions, group discussions, and digital polling were proposed to create a more dynamic and participatory learning environment. Since the interns come from diverse academic backgrounds, the content will be tailored to accommodate different levels of digital literacy. The team agreed that fostering an inclusive atmosphere would encourage active participation and deeper understanding. These strategies align with IO's mission to provide meaningful and accessible learning experiences for all participants.

In preparation for the main event, the team scheduled a simulation session to test all technical setups and participant flows. This rehearsal will allow interns to practice their roles and identify any potential issues in advance. The simulation will include a full run-through of the workshop agenda, including transitions between sessions and technical troubleshooting. Such rehearsals are standard practice within the International Office to ensure high-quality event delivery. The proactive approach taken by the team reflects their dedication and professionalism in organizing campus events.

As the meeting concluded, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. reiterated the significance of this workshop in empowering the next generation of global engagement professionals. He praised the interns for their enthusiasm and commitment, noting that such initiatives are essential for building a digitally competent workforce. The Digital Literacy Workshop represents more than just a training session; it is a platform for personal and professional growth. Through events like this, the International Office continues to foster an environment where learning, collaboration, and innovation thrive. With thorough preparation and strong teamwork, the upcoming workshop is expected to be a valuable experience for all involved.
