International Office Holds Strategic Weekly Meeting Ahead of Major Academic Events in 2025
Cirebon June 25, 2025 — The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon held its weekly consolidation meeting to review preparations for upcoming international programs. The session was chaired by Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Head of the International Office, with full support from Ivo Dinasta Yanuar, M.Appling, as the Secretary. The meeting was attended by the Global Engagement Team, including several student interns who contribute to international event coordination. This weekly agenda aims to ensure the university’s readiness for high-level academic programs throughout the year. The meeting focused primarily on the upcoming International Seminar and Launching of CILEM (Center for Islamic Law and Ethics of Mubadalah) scheduled for July 7, 2025. The event will bring together leading scholars to discuss contemporary issues related to Islamic law, ethics, and gender justice.
Another major topic discussed during the meeting was the administrative completion of SN-GES (Syekh Nurjati Global Excellence Scholarship) 2025. A total of 12 recipients from five countries: Philippines, Thailand, Senegal, Nigeria, and Yemen, have been selected for this scholarship program. The team reviewed essential documents including the Rector’s Decree of Appointment (SK-Penetapan Rektor), SK-Besaran Beasiswa (scholarship amount decree), SK-Pedoman (guideline decree), and Juknis SN-GES (technical guidelines). Ensuring accuracy and completeness of these documents is crucial for regulatory compliance and smooth disbursement of benefits. The International Office is collaborating with various internal units to finalize all paperwork before the arrival of the new scholars. Special emphasis has been placed on aligning these documents with university policies and government regulations. This ensures transparency and accountability throughout the scholarship implementation process.
A significant portion of the discussion focused on the financial planning for the incoming SN-GES scholars. The Rencana Anggaran Biaya (RAB) includes allocations for E-Visas, Kitas (limited stay permits), flight costs, settlement allowances, and health insurance coverage. Each budget item has been carefully mapped out to ensure efficient use of allocated funds. The team is currently verifying estimated expenses against current market rates and preparing contingency plans for possible fluctuations. Coordination with the Finance Division has been intensified to accelerate approval processes and disbursements. Close monitoring mechanisms will be implemented to track expenditures throughout the scholars’ stay. The goal is to provide a seamless and well-supported experience for all international students joining the university. Transparency and efficiency remain key priorities in managing the SN-GES budget.
In addition to seminar and scholarship updates, the meeting covered budget prioritization for the International Office’s operational needs. Several ongoing activities require funding support, including international partnerships, student mobility programs, and cross-border research collaborations. Given limited resources, the office is focusing on initiatives that align with the university's global strategic goals. Priority is being given to programs that offer measurable impact and long-term benefits. Cost-saving strategies are also being explored without compromising quality or outreach. These include optimizing digital tools and strengthening collaboration with partner institutions.
Preparations for the AsiaCALL International Conference 2025 were also discussed in detail. The conference, organized by AsiaCALL and hosted by UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UINSSC), is scheduled to take place in November 2025. This collaboration follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between AsiaCALL and UINSSC on February 5, 2025. As part of the host institution, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon is actively contributing to the organizational committee, particularly in areas related to international coordination, participant recruitment, and logistics for foreign delegates. The International Office has initiated early communication with potential keynote speakers, academic partners, and sponsors. Logistical planning is underway, covering both physical and hybrid participation formats. Efforts are being made to ensure the event meets international standards of academic excellence.
With a clear roadmap and dedicated teamwork, the International Office continues to advance UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon mission in promoting global engagement and academic excellence. Under the leadership of Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., and supported by a motivated Global Engagement Team, the university is well-prepared to welcome a series of dynamic international events in 2025. These initiatives reflect the institution’s commitment to fostering intercultural dialogue, supporting global talent, and contributing to cutting-edge research. As preparations continue, the university remains focused on delivering high-quality experiences that uphold its reputation on the global academic stage.
