International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Expands Global Academic Networks through Information Session with Deakin Lancaster University, Indonesia

Cirebon, June 3, 2026 – The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon actively participated in the Information Sessions for Deakin Lancaster University Indonesia to further expand its global academic networks. The International Office joined the session to explore new collaborative opportunities and gather vital information for the university's students. Deakin Lancaster University Indonesia stands out as the third foreign university branch in the country and the first to feature a collaboration between top Australian and British institutions. This strategic participation highlights the International Office's unwavering commitment to providing world-class educational pathways for its academic community.

The session commenced with an inspiring opening address by Prof. Yuli Rachmawati, who emphasized that human resource development remains the primary national priority. She articulated a profound vision for the institution by stating, "The existence of DLI goes beyond providing access to international standard education within the country, as it is expected to create a new ecosystem that can elevate the quality of the higher education system in Indonesia." Following this, Ms. Citta Sellepan detailed the institutional profile, noting that DLI officially began its first academic calendar in September 2025 with continuous support from the embassy in Canberra. She reaffirmed the university's dedication to contributing to the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision by offering five dual degree undergraduate programs across the Business and Computer Science faculties.

Arifin then delivered a comprehensive presentation on the unique dual degree concept and the extensive academic facilities available to students. He clarified that unlike a double degree which requires two separate programs, the DLI dual degree allows students to complete one program in three years and receive two distinct degrees from Deakin University and Lancaster University. A major highlight of this program is the global mobility opportunity in the second year, where students can study in Australia or the United Kingdom without paying additional tuition fees. This structure enables students to build robust global networks and cross-cultural competencies while maintaining close ties with their families in Indonesia. Furthermore, the campus in Bandung offers state-of-the-art facilities, including integrated digital libraries and specialized cybersecurity laboratories, ensuring a premium learning environment.

To ensure accessibility for a diverse range of students, the institution introduced three comprehensive scholarship schemes applicable to both domestic and international applicants. The Regular Scholarship is automatically assessed for students who meet the minimum academic and English proficiency requirements, offering significant tuition reductions in the first two years. Additionally, the Merit-Based Scholarship provides up to a full tuition waiver for exceptional students with a high school GPA above 90, subject to an interview with the rector. The institution also collaborates with the Ministry of Religious Affairs to offer the Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit, with an extended deadline until June 5 for graduates of madrasahs and Islamic boarding schools.

Reflecting on the strategic value of this webinar, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Director of the International Office, emphasized the importance of continuous network expansion. He stated, "Expanding our international network goes beyond signing agreements, focusing instead on creating tangible ecosystems where our students can access world-class education while remaining rooted in their local identity." By connecting with Deakin Lancaster University Indonesia, the International Office opens new avenues for student mobility and academic collaboration. This proactive engagement ensures that UINSSC students are well-informed about global scholarship opportunities and international exchange programs.
