International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Facilitates E-KITAS Extension Process for SN-GES Awardees
Cirebon, 27 August 2025 — The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UINSSC) is currently taking an active role in supporting international students who are recipients of the SN-GES Scholarship 2024. As part of their responsibility, the office is preparing the necessary administrative documents required for the extension of the students’ Electronic Limited Stay Permit (E-KITAS). This effort reflects the International Office’s commitment to ensuring that international students can continue their studies in Indonesia without facing administrative obstacles.
One of the most crucial documents being processed is the Guaranty Letter. This letter serves as an official guarantee that must be submitted to immigration authorities at the airport. Without this document, international students may face difficulties upon arrival or departure, as it confirms their legal status and ongoing administrative process. The International Office has made it a priority to finalize this letter promptly to safeguard the students’ mobility and compliance with immigration regulations.
At the moment, several international students under the SN-GES Scholarship have not yet extended their E-KITAS. This condition requires careful coordination between the students and the International Office. By issuing the Guaranty Letter, the office ensures that the students’ legal stay in Indonesia remains valid while the extension process is underway. "We are committed to supporting our international students so they can focus on their academic journey without unnecessary stress," stated a representative from the International Office.
In addition to the Guaranty Letter, the International Office is also preparing an Official Statement Letter addressed to the Directorate General of Immigration. This document clarifies that the E-KITAS extension process can only be carried out once the international students are physically present in Indonesia. The statement provides legal certainty and avoids any misunderstanding during the administrative process. It also emphasizes the university’s full compliance with Indonesian immigration regulations.
The situation becomes particularly important as some international students are currently in the process of returning to Indonesia. Their arrival is crucial to completing the E-KITAS extension, since immigration law requires in-person presence for such administrative matters. The International Office recognizes this urgency and ensures that the transition period does not disrupt the students’ academic or personal activities. Through proactive communication and preparation, the office aims to minimize potential challenges.
Furthermore, the International Office has been working to maintain close coordination with immigration authorities at both the local and national levels. This collaboration is essential to ensure smooth handling of the students’ administrative documents. By providing accurate updates and transparent documentation, the office reinforces its role as a bridge between the university, the students, and the government. Such efforts highlight the university’s dedication to fostering an international-friendly environment.
The ongoing preparation also reflects the International Office’s broader mission to provide continuous support for all international students at UINSSC. Beyond administrative assistance, the office plays a strategic role in ensuring that students feel welcomed and supported throughout their academic journey. This holistic approach to student services strengthens UINSSC’s reputation as an inclusive institution committed to international education.
Looking ahead, the International Office remains committed to improving its services and anticipating the needs of international students. The preparation of the Guaranty Letter and Official Statement Letter are only part of a larger framework designed to uphold students’ rights while complying with Indonesian regulations. With these ongoing efforts, the International Office reaffirms its dedication to ensuring that all international students at UINSSC can thrive in a safe, legally protected, and academically supportive environment.
