International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Holds Online Briefing for Double Track Program to Germany: Follow-up Socialization by Global Katalyst e.V. with Participants and Parents

Cirebon, July 29, 2025 — the International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UIN SSC) hosted a virtual meeting to socialize the Double Track Program and prepare participants for their upcoming departure to Germany. The event brought together representatives from Global Katalyst e.V., program participants, their parents or guardians, and officials from UIN SSC. It was an informative and encouraging session that underlined the university’s commitment to fostering international collaboration in education and career development. The event opened with a compelling video presentation showcasing Indonesian “Azubi” (apprentices) currently working in Germany, offering participants a glimpse into the opportunities that await them abroad.

Lala Bumela, Ph.D., Director of UINSSC’s International Office warmly welcomed the attendees and emphasized the significance of this collaboration. “This program reflects how strategic international cooperation can elevate the future of our students—not only in terms of career, but in education as well,” he stated. Her remarks underscored the university’s strategic move to integrate international mobility into its academic framework. In line with this vision, UIN SSC is poised to become the only institution in Indonesia to establish a German Centre, fully supported by Global Katalyst e.V. The centre will serve as a key hub for training and preparing students for the German workforce and education system.

Mr. Doddy Kadarisman, Director of Global Katalyst e.V., also delivered a keynote speech explaining the broader vision behind the Double Track Program. He highlighted the organization’s commitment to providing a structured and credible pathway for Indonesian students to pursue professional careers and further education in Europe. To reassure parents, Mr. Doddy Kadarisman elaborated on the credibility of the program, its legal framework, and the support that will be available for students at every stage of their journey. The program, he explained, does not merely aim at job placement—it is a comprehensive platform for global development.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the detailed explanation of the program's structure and benefits. Targeted for students with the potential to earn a minimum post-employment income of IDR 50 to 70 million per month, the program offers a dual opportunity: to work and to study further in Germany. The Double Track initiative will begin with a six-month intensive German language course, aiming for a minimum B1 proficiency, with the option to continue to B2 over a total of 1,800 hours of instruction. The language curriculum is specially designed in collaboration with professional educators and international partners, and includes certification that is valid for a lifetime.

To ensure quality, participants will undergo an internal placement test with a B1 standard that is even higher than international benchmarks. Once language proficiency is achieved, the next step includes visa application assistance, document legalization, and housing arrangements in Germany. The total cost of the program is set at IDR 9,700,000, with flexible installment options based on the participants’ remaining academic period at UIN SSC. An additional loan of €4,300—interest-free and payable after the student starts working—will be made available through Global Katalyst e.V., also with installment options.

The International Office of UINSSC plays a pivotal role in this process by acting as the primary liaison between the university, students, and the German counterpart. With clear structures, personalized support, and a transparent funding model, the office ensures that both students and their families can move forward with clarity and confidence. This initiative also sets a precedent for future international programs that aim to blend academic achievement with global career readiness.

Toward the end of the session, participants and their parents engaged in a productive Q&A segment with program organizers. Questions ranged from visa procedures to daily life in Germany, reflecting the deep interest and commitment of those involved. The International Office reassured all parties that their concerns would be addressed throughout the process and emphasized the importance of consistent communication and follow-up. It was a strong reminder that international success begins with strong local support.

This briefing not only marked the start of the participants’ journey but also solidified UIN SSC's reputation as an institution committed to international excellence. As the university continues to expand its global reach, the Double Track Program stands as a testament to what strategic international cooperation can achieve—opening doors to global education, careers, and lifelong transformation.
