International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Prepares for Audit Mutu Internal with Student Involvement in Quality Assurance Process

Cirebon, September 4, 2025 – The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon intensified its preparation for the upcoming Audit Mutu Internal (AMI) by actively involving student interns in the documentation and evidence-gathering process. This strategic initiative reflects the office’s commitment to institutional excellence and its vision of fostering a professional, globally competitive learning environment. Under the guidance of Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., the students are being entrusted with real-world academic and administrative tasks that mirror international standards of quality assurance. The AMI documentation aims to comprehensively showcase the office’s achievements in internationalization, research collaboration, scholarship management, and cultural preservation. This effort is not merely about compliance, but about demonstrating the depth and impact of its programs.

The student team involved in the preparation includes Muhammad Azkiya Bahtsulkhoir, Salsabilla, Indra Maulana Arfan Aziz, Shofiyatul Faqriyyah, and several other dedicated interns from the International Office. These students are engaged in compiling reports, organizing digital archives, drafting narratives, and formatting official documents required for the audit. Their roles go beyond clerical support, as they are trained to understand the significance of each document in reflecting institutional quality. They are learning how to align activities with standard operating procedures, present evidence systematically, and articulate the office’s contributions to the university’s broader mission. This hands-on experience is designed to build their capacity in project management, critical thinking, and professional communication.

The International Office has been at the forefront of innovative initiatives, including the Syekh Nurjati Global Excellence Scholarship (SN-GES), international research collaborations, Memorandum of Understanding with Global Institution, and many others. The AMI documentation captures these efforts in detail, ensuring that the audit team sees not just what has been done, but how it has been implemented with consistency, transparency, and impact. Special emphasis is placed on student development, digital transformation, and the integration of local wisdom into global academic. These elements highlight the office’s unique approach to holistic, values-based internationalization.

A key principle guiding the preparation is that the audit outcome should accurately reflect the actual work performed. The team is committed to honesty and precision, avoiding exaggeration or superficial presentation. Every claim is backed by verifiable evidence, from meeting minutes and financial reports to photos, emails, and published outputs. The involvement of students ensures that the documentation process is thorough and sustainable, creating a culture of shared responsibility and continuous improvement. This approach also serves as a training ground for future academic and administrative leaders within the university.

Through this experience, students are gaining a deeper understanding of institutional governance and quality assurance mechanisms. They are learning how universities are evaluated, what standards are expected at the national level, and how to present complex activities in a clear, structured manner. These skills are essential for their personal and professional growth, whether they pursue careers in education, research, public service, or international organizations. The International Office is proving that when students are given trust and responsibility, they rise to the occasion and contribute meaningfully to institutional advancement.

This AMI preparation phase exemplifies the core philosophy of the International Office: to empower students not just as learners, but as active contributors to academic excellence. By involving them in high-stakes processes like quality audits, the office is closing the gap between theory and practice. As the audit approaches, the team remains focused on integrity, collaboration, and excellence. In doing so, they are building a legacy of quality, professionalism, and innovation.
