International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Takes Center Stage at EDSA Talk—Empowering Freshmen Through Visionary Leadership, Student-Led Teams, and Global Flagship Programs
Cirebon, September 9, 2025 – The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon delivered a dynamic and inspiring presentation at the EDSA Talk, hosted by the English Department Student Association. Student ambassadors Farah Syifa Mutiara Riyadi and Indah Fitri Nurhidayah took the stage to introduce freshmen to the mission and heartbeat of the IO, fully aligned with the university’s vision of “Unggul Mendunia” or Excellence with Global Reach. They explained that the IO is not just an administrative unit but a catalyst for global transformation within the campus. Every initiative, partnership, and program is designed to equip students with global competence and cross cultural confidence. Their energy and clarity made internationalization feel personal, possible, and deeply exciting for every new student in the room. The session marked the beginning of many students’ journeys toward becoming global citizens with purpose and direction.
The ambassadors outlined the strong leadership structure that drives the IO’s success, beginning with Head Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., whose strategic vision has positioned UINSSC as a rising global player in Islamic higher education. Supporting her is Secretary Ivo Dinasta Yanuar, M.Appling, who ensures seamless coordination between international partners and campus stakeholders. Ghina Amaliyah Sholihah, S.Sos., serves as the operational backbone, guiding daily activities and student engagement with warmth and professionalism. They also introduced the four student led teams: Administration, Design, Digital Content, and Website Administration, each offering hands on roles that build real world skills. These teams are open to all students, regardless of major, and serve as incubators for leadership, creativity, and global mindset. Working at the IO means growing while contributing, and learning while leading under expert guidance.
Farah and Indah then unveiled the IO’s four flagship programs, each crafted to unlock global pathways for UINSSC students. First is the AsiaCALL International Conference, coming to campus this November in partnership with Asia’s leading CALL association, featuring Q1 journal publication opportunities. Second is the Global e Scholars Initiative, welcoming world-renowned professors to UINSSC’s campus in Cirebon for immersive workshops, collaborative research, and globally recognized certification experiences. Third is the Double Track Program and German Centre, in collaboration with Global Katalyst and WIFOG Germany, enabling dual degree pathways and European academic immersion. Fourth is the Syekh Nurjati Global Excellence Scholarship, a prestigious award dedicated to outstanding international students pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree at UINSSC, providing full financial support including tuition, monthly stipend, accommodation, and cultural integration programs to ensure academic success and holistic growth. These programs are not reserved for seniors or elites. They are accessible from day one, turning global ambition into actionable, life changing reality for every motivated student.
The ambassadors closed by encouraging students to see the IO not as a distant office but as a community of opportunity, mentorship, and growth. Under the guidance of Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Mr. Ivo, and Ms. Ghina, students are empowered to lead, create, and connect across borders. “Your global story begins here,” they declared. The room buzzed with excitement as hands shot up with questions and applications began to flow in before the session even ended. Many students left with a clear next step and a renewed sense of purpose.
Farah and Indah themselves embody the success of the IO’s mission. Once curious freshmen, they are now confident global ambassadors representing UINSSC on international platforms. Their journey proves that with the right support, any student can become a bridge between cultures, a leader of global projects, and a voice for Indonesian excellence abroad. Their presentation did not just inform. It ignited dreams, sparked applications, and reshaped perspectives. Many students left not just informed but transformed, already imagining themselves presenting at AsiaCALL, studying in Germany, or managing the IO’s next global campaign. The IO does not just open doors. It helps students build them, and walk through them with pride, preparation, and passion.
