International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Welcomes Visit from Global Katalyst and Pesantren Gedongan for German Language Program Preparation

Cirebon, July 28, 2025 — The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon welcomed a visit from Mrs. Wanti, a representative of Global Katalyst and Pesantren Gedongan, earlier this week. The visit aimed to review classroom facilities and finalize preparations for the upcoming German Language Learning Program. The International Office played an active role as the main facilitator, ensuring that both academic needs and infrastructure were well provided. This program is expected to broaden students’ horizons while also opening access to international opportunities in the future.

During her visit, Mrs. Wanti, accompanied by the International Office team, directly inspected the facilities located on the 4th floor of the UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati building. Three rooms have been specially prepared for the program, consisting of one lecturer’s office and two classrooms. Each classroom is designed to accommodate up to 20 students, providing a comfortable and supportive learning environment. The International Office emphasized the importance of high-quality classrooms to ensure the learning process runs optimally.

In addition to the facility inspection, the discussion also focused on the learning time commitment for the participants. Mrs. Wanti highlighted, “We hope that learning will not only take place inside the classroom, but also continue when students are outside of it.” This statement was fully supported by the Director of the International Office, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., who emphasized that such an approach aligns with the office’s mission to cultivate a culture of continuous learning. With this shared vision, students are expected not only to gain theoretical knowledge but also to actively practice their German language skills in their daily lives.

The program will be held regularly every day with an intensive schedule to support students’ language development. On weekdays, classes will run for two hours, while on weekends, the duration will be extended to eight hours for more in-depth sessions. The International Office views this schedule as an effective strategy to accelerate language proficiency while maintaining consistency in learning.

This collaboration also reflects a strong synergy between Global Katalyst, Pesantren Gedongan, and UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The International Office facilitated communication and coordination to ensure that all parties shared the same vision and objectives. This initiative demonstrates the university’s commitment to improving the quality of education while strengthening international networks. Cross-institutional support like this is believed to bring tangible benefits to students.

Furthermore, the International Office emphasized that German language proficiency will open many opportunities for students. From further study opportunities and cultural exchanges to international career prospects, all can be achieved through mastery of this foreign language. With the support of Global Katalyst and Pesantren Gedongan, students will be better equipped to compete on a global stage.

The International Office expressed its appreciation to Global Katalyst and Pesantren Gedongan for their trust and collaboration. With this program, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati further solidifies its role as a hub for international cooperation in Cirebon. It is hoped that this initiative will serve as the first step in a series of future programs that bring significant benefits to both students and the wider community.
