International Office UIN SSC Builds Collaboration with AIA Assurance to Support Student Insurance
Cirebon, September 24, 2025 — Under the leadership of Lala Bumela, Ph.D., the International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon held a virtual meeting with representatives from AIA Assurance, including Nuh Prabawa Laurens and his team, to discuss insurance arrangements for international students. The discussion centered on ensuring proper data collection of students who will receive insurance support. “This collaboration is part of our continuous effort to bring UIN SSC closer to global standards,” said Lala Bumela, Ph.D., during the meeting.
The partnership aims to strengthen student welfare by providing access to international-standard health insurance services. In the meeting, AIA Assurance highlighted the importance of establishing clear agreements between both institutions. Therefore, the International Office requested an official cooperation letter to formalize the collaboration. This agreement will serve as the foundation for upcoming initiatives that directly benefit international students.
One of the key points raised was the upcoming socialization program planned for mid-October 2025. This activity will introduce students to the procedures and benefits of the insurance policy provided by AIA Assurance. “We want our students to be fully informed about how to use the insurance, so they feel secure and supported while studying in Indonesia,” emphasized Lala Bumela, Ph.D. The program is expected to ensure that students are confident and comfortable accessing their health coverage when needed.
The insurance coverage will specifically apply to international students of the SN-GES 2025 program, who come from countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Yemen, and Nigeria. These students are an important part of UIN SSC’s internationalization efforts, and the university is committed to safeguarding their well-being during their studies. Providing comprehensive health insurance is seen as a step forward in meeting international expectations for higher education institutions.
By engaging with AIA Assurance, the International Office demonstrates its proactive role in enhancing campus services for global learners.
