Lala Bumela Opens the 2025 Internal Quality Audit of UIN SSC International Office With a Call for Reflection and Hopes for Strategic Steps Toward Greater Global Engagement
Cirebon, September, 25th 2025 — The Internal Quality Audit (Audit Mutu Internal/AMI) of the International Office and Partnership of Universitas Islam Negeri Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UIN SSC) was officially held on Thursday, 25 September 2025 at the International Office Room, 5th Floor of the Siber Building, UIN SSC. This annual audit brought together auditors Varidlo Fuad, M.Pd. and Nizar Ibnus, M.Pd., along with key leaders and staff from the International Office including Lala Bumela (Director of the International Office and Partnership), Ivo Yanuar Dinasta, S.S., M.Appling. (Secretary of the International Office), and Gina Amalia Sholihah, S.Sos. (International Office staff). The session also involved members of the Global Engagement Team (GET), who are internship students assisting in the office’s internationalization programs. Designed as part of the International Office’s ongoing commitment to continuously improve service quality, conduct comprehensive evaluations of ongoing programs and activities, and provide a space for reflection on achievements and challenges, the AMI reflects UIN SSC’s determination to enhance its international profile. “This Internal Quality Audit is not just a formality; it is a strategic forum for reflection, evaluation, and future planning to ensure our services and programs continue to grow in quality and global impact,” said Lala Bumela.
The 2025 AMI marked a significant milestone because it reviewed not only routine processes but also the expanding portfolio of international initiatives managed by the International Office. Programs under review ranged from global academic partnerships and student exchanges to collaborative research and professional training modules. Each of these initiatives has been critical to positioning UIN SSC as a dynamic cyber university with a strong multicultural ethos. The audit also scrutinized internal management systems, service delivery standards, and the effectiveness of recruitment processes for international students under the Syekh Nurjati Global Scholarship.
Opening the session, Lala Bumela underscored the importance of AMI as a forum for collective learning and forward planning. He noted that the International Office has successfully launched multiple international projects in recent years, including academic mobility programs, global employability initiatives, and improvements to international service management. “AMI is an arena for reflection and evaluation that allows us to assess the performance of our unit holistically. With 38 indicators already completed in this audit, we hope to draw significant lessons for the future success of the International Office — from standard-setting to recruitment of Syekh Nurjati Global Scholarship students and the broader spectrum of global academic programs,” Lala Bumela said.
The auditors, Varidlo Fuad and Nizar Ibnus, provided structured guidance on how to interpret the audit results and translate them into actionable recommendations. They emphasized that the AMI process is not merely a compliance measure but a strategic instrument for institutional growth. Their feedback focused on aligning the International Office’s key performance indicators with UIN SSC’s vision and mission, particularly in supporting internationalization targets that have tangible benefits for faculty, staff, and students.
Ivo Yanuar Dinasta and Gina Amalia Sholihah also contributed during the discussions by sharing operational insights from the International Office’s daily activities. They highlighted successes in facilitating MoUs with overseas universities, coordinating cultural and academic programs for international students, and integrating digital tools to improve service delivery. Their input helped frame a clearer picture of the unit’s strengths and areas needing further improvement, thereby enriching the audit’s evaluative dimension.
Concluding the opening remarks, Lala Bumela expressed optimism about the International Office’s future direction following the 2025 AMI. He stated that by maintaining a culture of reflection and structured evaluation, UIN SSC can continue to expand its global reach and improve its services. “This audit is not the end of a cycle but the beginning of a stronger phase of international engagement for UIN SSC. The variables, indicators, and work roles have all been carefully aligned to produce a holistic standard that will enable our International Office to keep driving impactful global programs and partnerships,” he concluded.
