Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Director of International Office, Leads Strategic Coordination Meeting for UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and WoW Malaysia Memorandum of Understanding

Cirebon, March 9, 2026 — Ahead of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UIN SSC) and We One Work (WoW), Malaysia, a preparation meeting was held at the International Office on the fifth floor of the Cyber Building, UIN SSC. The meeting was led by Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Director of the International Office, and attended by several members of the Global Engagement Team (GET) assigned to support the event. The coordination session aimed to ensure that every aspect of the upcoming ceremony was carefully prepared. The MoU signing was scheduled to take place in the Senate Room on the second floor of the Rectorate Building of UIN SSC from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. During the meeting, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. reviewed several logistical and administrative arrangements related to the event. WoW itself is a gig economy platform that supports remote or freelance job opportunities and connects directly with universities by involving students, lecturers, and campus institutions within its professional ecosystem.

One of the first aspects reviewed during the meeting was the readiness of the MoU document. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. carefully checked the document to ensure that all information was accurate and complete. The MoU was prepared in two languages, English and Indonesian, in order to accommodate both collaborating parties. Each section of the document was examined to avoid potential errors in wording or formatting. According to him, the document plays a crucial role as an official record of cooperation between the two parties. Once finalized and signed, it will become part of the university’s institutional archive. For that reason, ensuring the accuracy of the document was considered an essential step before the ceremony.

The meeting also addressed the preparation of the participants’ attendance list. This document serves not only to record the presence of invited guests but also to provide formal documentation of the event. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. reminded the team that well-organized administrative records are important for institutional reporting and archiving. A complete attendance list will also serve as one of the official proofs that the activity has been conducted. In addition, the team was instructed to manage the guest registration process smoothly during the event. These preparations were intended to support a well-organized and professional ceremony.

Another important point discussed during the meeting was the readiness of the note-taking team. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. ensured that the individuals assigned as note-takers had already reviewed the proposal materials that would be presented by the WoW team. By understanding the content beforehand, the note-takers would be able to record the discussion more accurately and maintain continuity throughout the presentation session. He emphasized that the meeting minutes would later become an important reference for preparing the official press release. The press release will then be published by the website administrator on the official International Office website. This process ensures that the outcomes of the collaboration can be shared with the wider academic community.

The readiness of the documentation team was also emphasized during the coordination meeting. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. highlighted the importance of producing clear and well-composed photographs throughout the event. He encouraged the team to carefully consider the angles and composition of each shot to capture the significance of the occasion. All key moments of the event were expected to be documented, including the opening session, welcoming remarks, the presentation of the proposal from the WoW team, the official MoU signing ceremony, and the final group documentation. These photographs will later serve as visual records for institutional publications and media releases. Proper documentation is therefore essential in showcasing the university’s engagement in international collaboration.

In addition to administrative preparations, the meeting also discussed the preparation of the venue and supporting facilities. Members of the Global Engagement Team were assigned to check the condition of the Senate Room, including the microphones, smart TV used for presentations, lighting, cleanliness, and air conditioning to ensure a comfortable environment for guests. Several team members were also instructed to stand by at the entrance of the Rectorate Building to welcome the WoW delegation upon arrival. Concluding the meeting, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. expressed his hope for the upcoming event, stating, “Hopefully the MoU signing ceremony between UIN SSC and WoW Malaysia will run smoothly and successfully.”
