Serious Steps Toward Internationalization: International Office Plans 2025 Global Programs
Cirebon, July 10 2025 — The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon held a comprehensive internal coordination meeting starting from 08.30 AM until completion. The meeting brought together key figures, including the Director of the International Office, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., the Secretary of the International Office, Ivo Yanuar Dinasta, S.S., M.Appling., member of the International Office team Ghina Amaliyah Sholihah, S.Sos., as well as several enthusiastic internship students who are part of the Global Engagement Team (GET). Also in attendance were the newly appointed trainers who will support upcoming international programs. The gathering aimed to ensure alignment and readiness for a range of strategic initiatives.
The meeting opened with an in-depth discussion about the ongoing development of the Double Track Ausbildung program, a flagship collaboration promoting skill-based education with international standards. Updates were shared regarding the revision of the technical guidelines, Rector’s Decree (SK Rektor), participant mapping, and detailed program planning. One of the key highlights was the preparation of an intensive German language program tailored for alumni, current students, and the general public. “We want to make sure our students are not only academically ready but also linguistically and culturally prepared for the Ausbildung experience,” said Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. during the session.
In addition to Ausbildung, the team also discussed the Internship in Japan program. This initiative will provide valuable professional experience for selected students abroad, and preparations are now underway to finalize crucial documents such as the Terms of Reference (ToR), budget plans (RAB), and technical guidelines. These documents will serve as the backbone for a smooth implementation of the program and ensure students’ safety and effectiveness while interning in Japan. The team emphasized the importance of detail and documentation in such international cooperation.
Virtual Student Exchange also became one of the highlights of the meeting, especially since four faculties have confirmed participation. This innovative academic exchange allows students to connect, collaborate, and learn across borders without leaving their home country. The International Office is now working on strengthening communication and ensuring smooth technical arrangements for the sessions. This program aligns with the university’s commitment to providing global access and opportunities for all.
In parallel, preparation for AsiaCALL 2025 continues to gain momentum. As the host of this prestigious international conference focusing on language and technology, the International Office team is currently finalizing follow-up documents and planning another coordination meeting with the organizing committee. The event will also showcase international collaborations in research and education, placing UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon on the global academic map.
Another agenda item was the upcoming Research Symposium with Ania Lian, where selected internship students will present their research virtually via YouTube. This is a golden opportunity for them to gain international exposure and receive feedback from a respected global academic. The team is currently mentoring these students to ensure quality and impactful presentations. This also reflects the International Office’s commitment to nurturing globally-minded scholars from an early stage.
The meeting also covered several administrative aspects such as applying for visas for incoming international students, preparing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UKBI for language certification, and finalizing committee plotting for the Digital Workshop scheduled for July 23. Ensuring that all documents and preparations are in place was a priority for the office. These seemingly small details are part of a larger mission to build a strong international ecosystem on campus.
As the meeting concluded, all members left with a clear sense of purpose and responsibility. The International Office continues to stand at the forefront of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon’s internationalization efforts, shaping impactful programs and global partnerships. With strong coordination, the team is set to turn plans into reality and bring the campus closer to the world.
