Strengthening Healthcare Assurance and Institutional Trust: A Strategic Online Dialogue between UIN SSC and PT AIA Financial Reflects on Service Excellence and Future Security for International Students
Cirebon, April 23, 2026—Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Director of the International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, conducted an online meeting with PT AIA Financial to reflect on the healthcare insurance services provided to international students. The meeting brought together representatives from AIA Financial, including Nuh Prabawa Laurens, Adrianto, and Dini Kurniasari, in a structured and forward-looking discussion. As AIA Financial has been responsible for providing health insurance services to international students at UIN SSC, the meeting served as an important moment to evaluate the effectiveness of this partnership. Two main agendas were highlighted during the session: an evaluation of healthcare services over the past six months, and a presentation on AIA’s pension fund program delivered by Dini Kurniasari. The discussion combined reflection and future planning in a balanced way. From the beginning, the session was marked by a shared commitment to improving student welfare and institutional collaboration.
The session began with opening remarks from Nuh Prabawa Laurens, who expressed gratitude for the presence of Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., as a representative of UIN SSC. He outlined the structure of the meeting while emphasizing the importance of open dialogue and constructive feedback. The initial tone was both appreciative and anticipatory, setting a positive foundation for the conversation. Participants were encouraged to share insights openly and reflect on their experiences over the past six months. This opening created a smooth transition into the core evaluation session. It also reinforced the collaborative spirit between both institutions.
In the feedback session, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. shared a comprehensive evaluation based on direct observation and reports from international students who had used AIA’s healthcare services. He noted that, overall, the services had been consistently positive, with no significant issues or complaints reported. Both AIA Financial and Medimas Hospital, as the main referral partner, were recognized for fulfilling their commitments effectively. Several real cases were highlighted, including a student from Senegal who received treatment for typhoid and another from the Philippines who experienced digestive issues. In both cases, the quality of care exceeded expectations, particularly in terms of comfort and service standards. As he stated, “Based on our observations and students’ experiences, the services have been running smoothly, with no negative feedback, and in some cases even beyond what was initially expected.” He also proposed establishing more direct coordination with Medimas Hospital through email or WhatsApp to ensure timely updates on diagnoses, daily progress, and treatment outcomes, reflecting a proactive effort to enhance transparency and monitoring.
Responding to this proposal, Adrianto from AIA Financial expressed a supportive stance, explaining that such coordination would be possible with an official request from UIN SSC. He also conveyed appreciation for Medimas Hospital, recognizing its professionalism and consistent service quality in handling student healthcare cases. According to him, this opens the possibility for deeper collaboration, including potential exclusive partnership, while still remaining open to other healthcare providers if needed. He also provided updates on reimbursement processes, reaffirming AIA’s commitment to continuous service improvement. This response strengthened the sense of trust and shared responsibility between both institutions. It also demonstrated a mutual willingness to continuously improve the quality of healthcare services.
The meeting then transitioned into the second agenda, where Dini Kurniasari presented AIA’s pension fund program (DPLK). She briefly explained that the program offers structured pension schemes, including the Defined Contribution Pension Program (PPIP) and the Post-Employment Compensation Pension Benefit (MPDKP), designed to support long-term financial security. She highlighted that DPLK AIA Financial operates under professional standards and regulatory approval, ensuring transparency and reliability. As she noted, “Through DPLK, we aim to provide a structured yet flexible system that allows individuals and institutions to prepare for their financial future.” This presentation expanded the discussion beyond healthcare into broader financial planning. It also introduced participants to the importance of long-term financial awareness.
In its closing moment, the meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to improving healthcare services and strengthening institutional collaboration. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. expressed appreciation for the insights shared during the session and emphasized the importance of continuous learning and partnership. Both parties demonstrated a willingness to adapt and enhance their collaboration for the benefit of international students. The session concluded with a forward-looking statement from Adrianto, who stated, “Regarding health insurance, we will prepare a more detailed illustration for future coverage plans.” This statement reflected AIA’s commitment to providing clearer and more comprehensive support moving forward. Ultimately, the meeting highlighted the importance of trust, communication, and continuous improvement in delivering quality healthcare services.
