UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and Nukita Kunci Buana Sign MoU to Open Global Pathways for Students to Japan

Cirebon, June 17, 2025 — UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon held a strategic cooperation meeting with Nukita Kunci Buana, marking an important step toward expanding international opportunities for students. The meeting, held in the Senate Meeting Room, was attended by key figures including such as Dr. H. Ayus Ahmad Yusuf (Vice Rector I of UINSSC), Prof. Dr. Hajam, M. Ag (Vice Rector III of UINSSC), Ms. Ivo Dinasta Yanuar, S. S., M. Appling, Ms. Nelly, Mr. Tata Sugiharta, Mr. Tatang Mulyono, and Mr. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph. D as director of International Office UINSSC. Representatives from Nukita Kunci Buana, including Mr. Nomusang from Japan, also participated and expressed their readiness to collaborate. This meeting served as a starting point for building a bridge between UINSSC and the global workforce, especially in Japan.

The International Office played a vital role in initiating and facilitating this meeting, which aligns perfectly with UINSSC's mission to internationalize its academic community. During the discussion, the International Office emphasized that the goal is not only to create pathways for post-graduate employment, but also to offer students the chance to join paid internships during their studies. “We want our students to go beyond the classroom and gain real, legal international experiences,” said one of the International Office representatives. This collaboration reflects the university’s broader commitment to empowering its students and alumni through global engagement.

The partnership will also involve Japan’s prestigious Keio University and Nagoya University, broadening the scope of academic and practical training opportunities for UINSSC students. Notably, Japanese representatives acknowledged the strong memorization skills of UINSSC students, many of whom are trained in Qur’anic recitation—an advantage when learning the Japanese language. This cultural and educational strength is expected to accelerate students' preparation for entering Japan’s professional environment.

To support this initiative, Nukita Kunci Buana will tailor its training curriculum and syllabus to ensure alignment with both UINSSC’s academic programs and Japan’s labor market demands. The International Office will oversee this integration to ensure it adheres to the university's commitment to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Through this collaboration, students will be eligible to legally intern or work in Japan for up to one year—either during or after their academic journey. It’s a win-win strategy that balances academic development and career advancement.

Furthermore, this MoU opens the door for future exchange, allowing international students from Japan to pursue undergraduate, master's, or even doctoral studies at UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. The agreement is more than a formal document—it’s a mutual promise to promote global academic mobility. The International Office sees this as a great opportunity to welcome students from Japan and enhance the international atmosphere on campus.

During the meeting, Mr. Fukui Daisuke from Japan shared that there is a growing demand for 430,000 skilled workers in the fields of tourism, hospitality, and informatics. These sectors are well aligned with the strengths of UINSSC graduates. The International Office, in collaboration with academic departments, will ensure that the university’s curriculum is aligned with global job market needs. The positions being offered are primarily office-based, matching the profiles of academically trained students.

With the signing of the MoU between UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and Nukita Kunci Buana, the International Office is optimistic that this cooperation will be the first of many. Looking ahead, such partnerships will become a key pillar in the university’s internationalization strategy. UINSSC is taking bold steps forward—and the International Office is proud to lead the way in bringing these global opportunities to life.
