UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Equips International Students with Digital Academic Tools During SN-GES 2025 Orientation

Cirebon, September 13, 2025 – The third day of the Inauguration and Orientation for international students under the Syekh Nurjati Global Engagement Series (SN-GES) 2025, UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon took a significant step toward digital integration in higher education. Shofiatul Faqriyah from the Global Engagement Team (student intern at International Office) led an interactive academic orientation session focused on the university’s core digital platforms. The session was designed to ensure that all incoming international students are fully prepared to navigate their academic journey from day one. With a strong emphasis on digital literacy and institutional connectivity, the university reaffirmed its commitment to a seamless, tech-enabled learning experience. This initiative marks a crucial milestone in the university’s ongoing efforts to modernize academic services and enhance student support systems.

The session introduced two essential digital platforms used across UINSSC: the Academic Portal and the SiberGO! mobile application. The Academic Portal serves as the official web-based system where students can access class schedules, register for courses, view grades, and download important academic documents. It acts as the central hub for all academic tracking and administrative processes. Meanwhile, SiberGO!, the university’s newest innovation, is a comprehensive mobile app that integrates academic services and campus support features into one user-friendly interface. Through this dual-platform approach, UINSSC ensures that students remain connected, informed, and engaged throughout their studies. Participants were guided step-by-step through both systems during the session to minimize technical barriers. The hands-on format allowed immediate troubleshooting and direct assistance from IO staff.

A key highlight of the session was the requirement for all international students to create their university email accounts before proceeding further. This institutional email serves as the primary channel for official communication and authentication across digital platforms. Shofiatul Faqriyah emphasized that using the official email is not only mandatory but also a symbol of belonging to the UINSSC academic community. Students were assisted on-site to set up their accounts and verify access instantly. They were also encouraged to use these credentials consistently across all university systems. By establishing digital identity early, the university ensures accountability, security, and smooth integration into campus life.

Following the technical walkthrough, students were prompted to download SiberGO!, log in using their new credentials, and explore its features in real time. Facilitators walked among participants, offering personalized help and answering questions about functionality and best practices. Many students expressed enthusiasm about the convenience and modernity of the tools, noting how they simplify daily academic routines. The live demonstration reinforced UINSSC’s vision of a digitally inclusive and student-centered environment. This proactive onboarding process minimizes delays and sets a strong foundation for academic success.

Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. Director of the International Office, delivered a message of encouragement to the international cohort. He affirmed that this sharing session reflects UINSSC’s deep commitment to student readiness, inclusion, and technological empowerment. “We don’t just welcome our international students, we equip them,” he stated, highlighting the university’s holistic approach to orientation. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. also stressed that digital integration is not merely about convenience, but about equity and access for all learners. His presence underscored the leadership’s active involvement in shaping the international student experience.

This session is part of the broader SN-GES 2025 program, which aims to foster global engagement, intercultural understanding, and academic excellence. The integration of digital platforms into orientation reflects UINSSC’s alignment with global trends in smart campus development and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4—ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education. By combining technology with personalized support, the university is building a future-ready academic ecosystem. The International Office remains dedicated to continuous innovation in student services and internationalization strategies. As UINSSC expands its global footprint, initiatives like this reinforce its reputation as a forward-thinking Islamic university in the digital age. Moving forward, the International Office will continue to monitor student adoption of these platforms and provide follow-up training sessions as needed.
