UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Holds International Seminar on Curriculum Alignment toward Industry 5.0 and Sustainability
Cirebon (Rafly Hensam Ramadhan) – Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education by organizing the International Seminar 2026 entitled "International Curriculum Alignment toward Industry 5.0 and Sustainability." The seminar was held on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the 8th Floor of the Cyber Building, bringing together distinguished academics and industry practitioners as keynote speakers.
The seminar served as a strategic platform to strengthen collaboration between higher education institutions and industry in designing curricula that are responsive to technological advancements, workforce demands, and the principles of sustainable development.
The event was officially opened by the Rector of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, Prof. Dr. Aan Jaelani, M.Ag., who emphasized the importance of transforming higher education curricula to produce graduates who are not only academically excellent but also equipped with competencies that meet the challenges of the Industry 5.0 era.
He further highlighted that internationalization should not be limited to partnerships among higher education institutions but should also be reflected in curriculum alignment with global standards while preserving Islamic values. Therefore, the international seminar is expected to serve as a significant milestone in strengthening UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon's position as a Cyber Islamic University, producing graduates who are globally competitive, innovative, and well-prepared to address the challenges of sustainable development.
Adopting a collaborative approach, the seminar featured two distinguished speakers from academia and industry. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Yani, M.Si., Director of the Directorate of Curriculum Development, Digital Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Metaverse, presented strategies for curriculum development that align with digital transformation, the integration of artificial intelligence, and the evolving demands of future education.
Meanwhile, Rizky Abdullah, S.T., Environment Supervisor at Cirebon Power, shared insights from the industrial sector on the importance of aligning academic curricula with labor market needs while incorporating sustainability principles into human resource development.
Through engaging and interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into developing curricula that extend beyond technological competence by integrating sustainability, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration. The synergy between higher education institutions and industry was recognized as a key factor in producing graduates who are adaptive, competitive, and capable of responding to the challenges of the human-centered Industry 5.0 revolution.
The seminar also reflects UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon's ongoing efforts to strengthen its internationalization agenda and improve educational quality through collaboration with various stakeholders.
