UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Prepares to Launch Double Track Program with Global Katalyst
Cirebon, July 25, 2025 — The International Office of UIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon held a strategic briefing with the Global Katalyst team and various Person in Charge (PIC) representatives across the university. This meeting marked an essential milestone in aligning efforts to ensure the successful launch of the Double Track Program, scheduled to take place in a hybrid format on August 3, 2025. The event was attended by Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., Director of the International Office, and Doddy Kadarisman, Director of Global Katalyst. Their presence signified the strong spirit of collaboration that lies at the core of this initiative. The International Office serves as the central hub, coordinating communication between the university and international partners.
The meeting opened with a warm address from Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. who shared updates on the progress of the ongoing international collaboration. Following his remarks, each PIC was introduced in turn to foster early synergy and shared understanding of roles. The discussion proceeded in an open and engaging atmosphere, with participants actively posing questions and offering input, especially on technical aspects of the program rollout. “We hope this program is not just a study opportunity, but also a space where students can grow and realize their potential,” Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. stated. His message reinforced that the Double Track Program aims to empower students locally while also preparing them for global engagement.
One of the core topics discussed was the language preparation component, which is a critical prerequisite before students depart for Germany. Miss Putri from Global Katalyst explained that German language classes would begin shortly after the program’s launch, consisting of two-hour sessions with one instructor assigned to every 20 participants. English language courses will also be made available to support the students’ overall readiness. The International Office is currently coordinating with the Language Center and university faculties to explore Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) schemes. This reflects IO’s active role in harmonizing global requirements with the university’s academic structure.
In terms of academic pathways, the briefing also outlined the preparation and departure process for students going to Germany. Participants will undergo German language instruction and take a placement test before departure. Those who demonstrate sufficient language proficiency may be eligible for earlier placement. For bachelor’s degree holders, enrollment in master’s programs in Germany will depend on the institution’s recognition by the Anabin system. If not recognized, students may need to restart at the undergraduate level before progressing. The International Office will provide guidance throughout to ensure students are aligned with the most suitable academic track.
As the program launch approaches, all participants will be required to sign official contracts and agreements to formalize their involvement. The International Office is currently finalizing the legal documents and ensuring all administrative processes are in place. Beyond handling logistics and legal matters, IO is also establishing a support and monitoring system that will accompany participants throughout the program. This level of service is a reflection of UIN’s growing commitment to international engagement and its transformation into a globally connected university.
Doddy Kadarisman, Director of Global Katalyst, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. He noted that the collaboration between an international organization and an Islamic university like UIN Syekh Nurjati represents a strategic step in preparing youth to thrive in global settings. “We are impressed by the campus’s spirit and readiness. This is a strong foundation for the program’s success,” he remarked. The partnership is also expected to foster broader opportunities for knowledge exchange and cross-border experiences.
With the close cooperation between UIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon and Global Katalyst, the Double Track Program is poised to become a gateway for students to expand their international horizons. As the university’s frontliner in international affairs, the International Office plays a pivotal role in building global networks, preparing human resources, and facilitating outbound mobility. IO’s commitment to expanding international access to education is becoming increasingly tangible through concrete initiatives like this one. The upcoming launch on August 3 will mark a key milestone, demonstrating that internationalization is no longer just a vision—it’s a living reality across campus.
