UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon Strengthens Research Capacity through International Seminar on Research Methodology

CIREBON (Muhammad Fakhri Ali) – The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UIN SSC) successfully held an international seminar entitled "Research Methodology: Designing High-Impact Studies for World Class Cyber University" on (Tuesday, September 8, 2026). The event took place on Floor 8 of the Cyber Building and was dedicated to lecturers within the UIN SSC environment to enhance institutional research capacity.

The event began with remarks from the Chief Executive of the International Office, Ivo Dinasta Yanuar, S.S., M.AppLing, who emphasized the commitment of the International Office in facilitating high-quality academic activities to support university internationalization. The seminar was then officially opened by the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Hajam, M.Ag., representing the university leadership. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the critical role of high-impact research in elevating UIN SSC’s academic reputation and global competitiveness toward becoming a world-class cyber university. To add a solemn international touch, a opening prayer was led by Babou Seck, an international student from Senegal.

The seminar featured two prominent national experts as key speakers: Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, M.Pd., widely recognized as the Father of Methodology in Indonesia, and Dr. Syahrul Ramadhan, M.Pd., a researcher from the Center for Education Research at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
During the presentation session, Prof. Dr. Sugiyono highlighted the psychological and habitual stages of productive academic writing, noting that the process often moves from being forced to becoming second nature (dipaksa - terpaksa - biasa - budaya - hiburan). He emphasized that writing should ultimately be viewed not as a burden, but as a form of intellectual entertainment (hiburan). Furthermore, he delivered comprehensive insights into fundamental frameworks and practical strategies for designing robust, rigorous research methodologies.
Meanwhile, Dr. Syahrul Ramadhan, M.Pd. presented on "Etik dan Pemanfaatan Tools berbasis AI untuk Penelitian" (Ethics and Utilization of AI-based Tools for Research). He highlighted the strategic role and ethical integration of Artificial Intelligence tools in enhancing academic research, data analysis, and publication workflows, drawing from his ongoing research focus on AI in education.
Through this initiative, the International Office of UIN SSC aims to foster a stronger research ecosystem among academic staff, encourage higher publication output, and drive continuous academic innovation on the global stage.
