UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UINSSC) Prepares Virtual Student Exchange Program with ICCCM and Godwin Silver
Cirebon, July 02, 2025 — the International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon (UINSSC) held a strategic meeting with representatives from the International Cultural Communication Center Malaysia (ICCCM) and the Godwin Silver Secretariat. The meeting, led by Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., was attended by Ivan from ICCCM_ITEA and Godwin Silver as the official representative of the ICCCM Secretariat. Held on the 5th floor of the Cyber Building, the discussion focused on initiating a Virtual Student Exchange Program aimed at strengthening UINSSC’s international engagement through collaborative academic activities centered on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The International Office sees this program as a strategic solution to overcome administrative hurdles that have previously complicated the implementation of international programs. “We see this as a valuable opportunity to build global partnerships without being constrained by technical or bureaucratic limitations,” said Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., during the meeting. The program is designed to offer a space for students to participate in global discussions while developing international academic skills through structured, week-long online activities.
The program will involve students from three faculties at UINSSC: the Faculty of Da’wah and Islamic Communication (FDKI), the Faculty of Sharia (FASYA), and the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI). Undergraduate and postgraduate students (semester 4–6) from these faculties will present their SDG-related research and participate in an “International Writing Skills” workshop. This training is intended to help students meet the standards of reputable international publications such as Scopus-indexed journals (Q2/Q4), aligning with UINSSC’s vision for academic excellence and global recognition.
One of the program’s highlights will be a keynote session with Prof. Rudolf Wirawan from Adelaide University. Each day, the virtual exchange will host 8–12 international participants, including representatives from Africa, Europe, and China. Through interactive workshops, students will deepen their understanding of SDGs and submit abstract presentations to be reviewed by academic experts. A six-month revision period will follow, allowing students to refine their work before submitting it to international journals.
As part of its broader internationalization agenda, UINSSC is also seeking support from the Godwin Silver Secretariat to facilitate Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with universities in Gambia and other African countries. The International Office views these partnerships as crucial for expanding academic networks and building long-term educational collaborations. Godwin Silver’s role in bridging these connections will be instrumental in reinforcing UINSSC’s presence on the global academic stage.
The Virtual Student Exchange Program will adopt proven educational models from China and Europe, combining interactive workshops, expert evaluations, and periodic revisions. The International Office believes this approach will enhance the learning experience and raise the quality of student research. In addition to improving academic output, the program also offers students an opportunity to engage with peers across borders and broaden their global outlook.
Through this initiative, the International Office of UINSSC reaffirms its commitment to international cooperation and inclusive, forward-thinking education. With strong faculty involvement and global partnerships, the program serves as a tangible example of UINSSC’s collaborative spirit and dedication to advancing SDG-related knowledge. The Virtual Student Exchange is expected to become a model of adaptive, high-impact international programming in the digital age.
