UIN SSC International Office Facilitates Signing of Guarantor Letter for SINDI Kemenag Application
Cirebon, 26 September 2025 — The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon, under the leadership of Lala Bumela, Ph.D., recently facilitated the signing of a guarantor statement letter. This document is an important requirement for foreign students to apply through the SINDI (Sistem Informasi Data Perizinan) Kemenag application. The activity was attended by international students, staff from the International Office, and academic representatives who ensure the smooth preparation of administrative documents. “This step is crucial to provide certainty and legal assurance for our international students during their academic journey in Indonesia,” said Lala Bumela, Ph.D.
SINDI (Sistem Informasi Data Perizinan) is a digital platform developed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) to simplify the management of permits and documentation for foreign religious figures and international students in Indonesia. The application includes important features such as the processing of Limited Stay Visas (Visa Tinggal Terbatas/VTT), making administrative work more effective and accessible online. By guiding students in preparing the guarantor statement letter, the International Office ensures that they are not only meeting requirements but also receiving full support in adapting to this new system.
During the event, the International Office team guided students on the purpose and function of the guarantor statement. They explained that the document acts as a formal pledge of responsibility by the institution to safeguard students’ welfare throughout their studies. This preparation is not only administrative but also part of the university’s commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for international students. “We want our students to feel that they are well taken care of, both academically and administratively,” emphasized Lala Bumela, Ph.D.
The International Office also used the occasion to highlight its long-term role in bridging foreign students with the national regulatory framework. By ensuring compliance with the SINDI system, the office plays a key role in maintaining the legitimacy and smooth continuation of academic programs. This involvement demonstrates how the International Office anticipates challenges in student administration and provides solutions before issues arise. Such readiness reflects the office’s proactive spirit and its vision of high-quality international services.
Another important aspect was the emphasis on communication between students and the institution. Staff members of the International Office took the time to answer questions directly from students, explaining the procedures in detail and addressing any concerns. This open dialogue was welcomed by the students, who expressed relief and confidence after receiving clear guidance. By creating such transparent communication channels, the International Office strengthens trust and reinforces its role as a reliable partner in students’ academic journey.
Beyond administrative assistance, the International Office views this process as part of its broader responsibility to uphold UIN SSC’s reputation as a welcoming and globally connected campus. By dedicating attention to student needs, the office ensures that every international student feels included in the university community. These efforts not only support individual success but also contribute to building a diverse and vibrant academic environment. Diversity and inclusion remain central to the International Office’s mission.
In line with the university’s vision, the International Office continues to strengthen its services and partnerships with national institutions. The successful facilitation of the guarantor statement signing is expected to make future applications through SINDI (Sistem Informasi Data Perizinan) smoother and more transparent. “This initiative is more than just paperwork it is a symbol of our commitment to ensuring that international students can thrive without administrative burdens,” he concluded. His statement reflects the International Office’s ongoing dedication to excellence, positioning UIN SSC as a trusted academic destination for students worldwide.
