UIN SSC International Office Finalizes Preparation for Global Workshop on AI and Career Pathways
Cirebon, April 28, 2025 — Eight team members from the International Office of UIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon gathered on Monday morning on the 5th floor of the Siber Building. This coordination meeting marked the final stage of preparation for the upcoming international workshop titled “AI-Powered English Fluency & Global Career Pathways: Bridging Skills for Success in Japan and Beyond.” Led by the Head of the International Office, Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., the session brought everyone’s focus to the final logistical, technical, and content-related details. Although the meeting lasted only an hour, it was packed with crucial decisions that will shape the success of the event.
One of the main topics discussed was the readiness of all logistical elements, such as catering, merchandise, documentation, and guest invitations. Snacks and lunch are scheduled to be delivered directly to the International Office at designated times. The merchandise—consisting of goodie bags, notebooks, and pins—has been packed and will be distributed to participants and speakers on the morning of the event. Invitations to MGMP teachers have already been sent, and the committee is currently waiting for confirmation from schools, followed by reminders via WhatsApp and email.
The documentation team has been instructed to focus on candid photography throughout the event. These natural and engaging photos will capture real-time moments between participants and speakers, reflecting the true atmosphere of the workshop. In addition, the media team is preparing three official press releases covering the workshop's opening, the session by Matthew S. Susman, and the session by Lina Suhairy. All press releases will be submitted to the university’s Public Relations Office through Ms. Ivo for publication on UIN SSC’s website and social media channels.
The meeting also highlighted a strategic initiative from the International Office: submitting a proposal to establish an official institutional Microsoft Teams account. This move is part of a larger effort to strengthen the university’s digital infrastructure in support of its growing international engagements. With a centralized platform, the International Office aims to streamline global communication and enhance collaboration with international partners.
UIN SSC, through the International Office, also reaffirmed its commitment to becoming the regional hub for internationalization in Cirebon Raya. The team emphasized the importance of positioning UIN SSC as the head of internationalization, capable of leading regional cooperation and expanding the university’s global outreach. This upcoming workshop serves as a significant opportunity to showcase UIN SSC’s organizational capacity and international vision.
Other essential details—such as restroom cleanliness, room arrangement, and additional table setups—were also addressed. The logistics team has been scheduled to ensure all facilities are in optimal condition ahead of the event. Additionally, the photo and CV of speaker Lina Suhairy are being collected for publication and profile display. Testimonial content from invited guests will be recorded during the event and featured in the university’s post-event publications.
This workshop is more than just a platform to discuss AI and global career opportunities—it is a reflection of the International Office’s capability to deliver impactful international events. The meeting demonstrated the team’s dedication to curating a well-organized and meaningful experience for all attendees. “This is not just an event, it’s part of the university’s global movement,” one team member remarked as the meeting came to a close.
