With Meticulous Preparation and Global Ambition, the International Office of UINSSC Ushers in a New Era of Scholarly Exchange Through the AsiaCALL 2025 Conference
Cirebon, October 5, 2025 – The International Office of UIN Siber Syekh Nurjati Cirebon convened an online internal meeting to advance preparations for the upcoming AsiaCALL International Conference 2025. Chaired by Director Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., the session gathered IO staff and student interns from the Global Engagement Team to review critical action points ahead of the landmark event. Scheduled for November 14 to 16, 2025, this hybrid conference will mark UINSSC’s debut as a host of a global academic gathering under the AsiaCALL banner. The offline sessions will be held at the Auditorium on the 8th floor of the Cyber Building, while the participants and presenters can join virtually from across the globe. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., stressed that the success of this conference hinges on meticulous coordination and timely execution. He called on all participants to treat every task with the highest level of professionalism. The meeting set a clear pace for the final six weeks of preparation. “This conference is our promise to the world,” Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D. stated. “And promises are kept through precision, passion, and preparation.”
Key decisions included immediate follow up on official correspondence, particularly the formal request to the Rector for venue use and budget endorsement. The team also began coordinating with confirmed keynote speakers to collect essential documents, including passport details for flight bookings and abstracts for program inclusion. A designated officer will oversee on site preparations at the Auditorium on the 8th floor, ensuring the space meets international standards for cleanliness, acoustics, seating, and technical functionality. Another officer will manage the online platform to guarantee stable streaming and smooth interaction during virtual sessions. The Global Engagement Team will support documentation, communication, and daily coordination. Every responsibility was assigned with urgency and care.
The conference will feature globally recognized scholars, including Presidential Keynote Speaker Professor Prof. Andrew Lian from Suranaree University of Technology and the University of Canberra, AsiaCALL executives Ania Lian, Ph.D. and Associate Professor Dr. Pham Vu Phi Ho, and Special Keynotes from Professor Dr. Jeremy White of Japan, Associate Professor Dr. Hassan Khosravi of The University of Queensland, and Professor Shameem Rafik Galea of Malaysia. Indonesian voices will also take center stage, with keynotes by Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., and Luqman Baihaqi, Ph.D. Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., emphasized that hosting such distinguished academics is both an honor and a responsibility. The IO must ensure every speaker feels welcomed, respected, and professionally supported from invitation to departure. This includes timely honorarium processing, visa assistance, and seamless on site experience during their stay in Cirebon.
The hybrid format is currently planned as follows: Day 1 will be fully offline at the Auditorium on the 8th floor, featuring high profile keynotes and networking, while Day 2 will shift to online sessions to maximize global accessibility. Discussions also covered the need to finalize the Memorandum of Agreement with AsiaCALL to align on budgeting and financial accountability. All documentation, including the detailed RAB (Budget Plan) and technical run sheets, must be completed within the coming week. The IO will operate from its office on the 5th floor as the central coordination hub, with regular check ins to monitor progress. Digital updates will be shared every three days to maintain transparency and momentum. The goal is not just to host a conference, but to set a new benchmark for global events in Indonesian Islamic higher education.
Lala Bumela Sudimantara, Ph.D., closed the meeting with a clear directive: “Starting tomorrow, we move from planning to action. Secure the venue approval. Finalize speaker confirmations. Test all equipment in the Auditorium.
